At the start of PTI Tony said Wilbon's cooling down after taking a flame thrower to Goodell's reputation and Adande filled in for him. I know he can get pretty mouthy on Twitter especially when it comes to racial issues. Did something happened that forced PTI to give him a time out? I know they suspended Tony for his harmless comments about Hannah Storm in the past.

He basically called Goodell gutless for not stepping in and suspending Cooper

Made the accusation that the league called the eagles and told them to handle this quickly so that the league could just "support" their decision. Then said that Goodell only appearing on Mike&Mike is him taking the easy way out.

Yeah he kind of went off a bit. Wouldn't surprise me if they just sat him down for that show. I don't think you'll see any public statements from them about Wilbon being suspended.

Many ESPN personalities have shown their true colors regarding racial issues during the last month.

This was the 3rd day in a row they opened with Cooper. They spent 4 segments on it alone yesterday. Watching Wilbon get angry made me want to change the channel which I'm sure ESPN does not want. Adande was very cool-headed talking about it which I did not expect at all. I just wanted to know if they officially suspended him without pay or if it was just a time out.

Could ESPN just make a spinoff network for all their race-baiting personalities such as Wilbon, Hill, etc. so maybe I can enjoy ESPN again. Then again, I'm guessing BET/ESPN hybrid would probably have trouble finding viewers.

I read that under the new CBA the NFL can't penalize a player it the team has already penalized them for the incident so it's not like Goodell could have done anything. Also, since this is the new rule whenever a player does something wrong, no matter how bad, can't a team just give them a $10,000 fine and be finished with it? The NFL might now like it but it seems like there would be nothing they could do about it. Can someone with more knowledge about the CBA confirm that would work? TIA!

Hes gutless for not being able to break the collective bargaining agreement agreed on by the players and owners?

Yesterday they covered Cooper during the opening segment, the following segment with Vick's thoughts, 5 good minutes with Herm Edwards, and during Sportscenter's little PTI segment. That's literally 1/2 the show dedicated to this.

I like Wilbon but he just goes nuts whenever minorities are mentioned be it race or something as simple as the big conferences trying to keep the "little man" Boise State down. Never mind the fact the SEC teams he harps against play 5 ranked opponents and Boise plays 1.

I like Wilbon but got damn, enough of this Cooper shite. It's over, it's done, we don't need 24/7 of Cooper updates, there's nothing to update.

It's not a Roger Goodell issue, he broke no laws. He could recommend counseling but that's about it.

Wilbon and Kornheiser take every other day off except during football season.

I have a feeling Wilbon isn't very pc when with his buddies drinking. He already admits how hard it is not to curse on tv.

Remember when Tony said it was absurd that Roy Hibbert wasn't suspended from game 7 of the ECF for saying "no homo" at a press conference?

Seems like Wilbon has always been a big race-baiter and Tony just fricking sucks. At the moment it seems like there's not a single show on ESPN that's half decent. Will they be able to bounce back? Start over on some of their shows? Will NBC or another network finally compete with a daily sports channel?

I like that they keep interviewing Michael Vick asking if he can forgive him like Vick is a real moral compass.

Once they let a black person talk I'm sure you guys will say they're racebaiting and you'll hate them too.
