I do like some rap, some, but majority is complete talentless bull shite. You can't tell me otherwise.

Rock, blues, jazz, soul, etc. that's timeless music. I guarantee most of these kids will not be listening to Lil Wayne when they are in their 40s and 50s. The people I named will sound good, even when I get to that age. I also think a lot of people are too simple minded and they flock to the radio garbage, just my opinion.

And I'd actually say pop music is the most popular. Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and stuff like that.

This started happening when big bucks began to flow into the hip-hop industry. A lot of guys saw it as a way to make money instead of a way to be artistically creative. And this is the time when "Snap Era Rap" infiltrated the radio waves (2006ish).

Are you talking in terms of new material? If so, I agree. But old people always reminisce and listen to the classics of their younger days.

In today's time, yes. But a lot of veteran artists that you hear on the radio were putting out high quality music in the early 2000's. So their fans continue to listen and stay loyal. And honestly, I think the hate on mainstream music is ignorantly projected onto all rappers of the current generation

Well I think the two are battling it out. Among the urban youth hip-hop culture is definitely glorified more.

Every genre of music has talentless bullshite, you only notice it in hip hop because rappers put out dozens of songs per year

The great artists take their time to release albums and rely on quality over quantity. They don't just put out songs for the hell of it. Kid Cudi, Kanye West, Lupe, Eminem, etc. they come out with stuff when they feel they have something worthy of being relevant.

But not every single release is going to be great. Even the greatest rappers have their downfalls

Still don't understand the thought process of trying to stay relevant 24/7, like a lot of rappers do. You die out that way, and people get tired of you. A new mixtape every month would bore the hell out of me. Put out something good, let people enjoy that, then come back in 1-2 years. There would be better stuff that way.

Then again, rap for the most part is a lot easier to make music for compared to genres that involve singing and actually playing instruments. There are so many samples, beats and loops to choose from. They also aren't hard to create with a little creativity and feel for music. However, you create a better product and remain on top by not trying to be relevant at all times, and putting out records only when you have some quality stuff.

Must be a generational thing or something

More like a taste thing. I'm 3 years older than you.

How can anyone seriously listen to shite like this and think it's good. I mean, I did grow up in the late 80s and 90s on the golden era of hip hop, so maybe I'm more cultured than some of you younger cats. But how the hell can you listen to this and think this shite sounds good in any shape or form. It's cookie cutter garbage rap. Anyone can make that crap. There is nothing ground breaking or monumental about this. No one will remember this song in 3 years. I just don't understand this disposable mentality you radio sheep have with music. If this was talent, I'd give it up the artist if I liked or disliked them.

Give it a try and upload it, I'd like to see what you can make.

Not every single new song is going to be ground breaking. Hiphop is over 30 years old, it's hard to find a new sound when almost everything has already been done.

Different cultures. Even Chuck D and Flava Flav have come out to say they don't think Jay-Z and other artists are making "Hip-Hop" music. It's just a generational thing.

That fricking album was R&B not rap. And just because a bunch of 13 year olds and women buy your' album doesn't mean it's great.

And this song is shite. Big Sean can't rap or flow at all, not at all. 2Chainz is still shite and always will be. And Drake clearly wants to be R.Kelly but can't sing without his shitty arse auto tune. frick Wayne for ever bringing this fig arse bitch out of Toronto. Should have left him in cold arse Canada. Old baby soft, Charmin Ultra soft, feathered pillow soft punk arse. This mocha colored ,bushy eyebrowed, yamaka wearing motherfricker needs to get the frick out with this weak arse hype beast shite.
