The difference between Amateur and Professional Golfers...(LINK)

Someone started a thread posing this question a few days ago. I searched but couldn't find the thread. I was listening to Science Friday on NPR and they're addressing the question with neuroscientists and Phil Mickleson weighs in as well...I found this story interesting and thought I'd pass it along...

OK, I'll save your thread with a tangent. Guy did a study on eyesight re: fast moving objects. He put people in a chair in a dark room and projected a letter on the opposite wall like your eye doctor does when you need glasses. Same letters... 'e' 'f' 'h', etc.
But, this machine ran the letter left to right at very high speeds. Most people just saw a white line. They could not identify a letter.
Baseball players could. Conclusion. The difference between Amateur and Professional Baseball Players is vision. Not strength or speed. There are lots of big strong and fast ball players who never make it the majors because they can't see the ball the way great hitters can.
