Man of Tai Chi
Directed by and starring Keanu, also starring one of the fight choreographers from The Matrix and the dude from The Raid. Looks badass.

47 Ronin
Keanu as a samurai fighting other samurai, also demons and shite. Based on a true story but with fantasy elements thrown in. Looks like it has a 300 type of feel to it.

I'm looking forward to both of these.

Keanu Reeves being in the 47 Ronin is insane white washing that makes no sense. No way in hell would the Japanese in the 1600s follow a white guy (interracial being pretty much the same thing) and probably would have killed him on sight since he was an outsider. Until the 1850s, Japanese hated white people and all outsiders really.

1. It's set in the 18th century, not the 17th.

2. He's not the leader.

I had a Japanese history class in college and learned about the real story. I'm guessing the movie is only very loosely based on it.

Whatever. They still would have more than likely killed Keanu than let him join their gang.

Yep, at least for the first 2/3rds of the film, and then the master will die, and Keanu will lead them.

Thanks for the spoiler warning landdouche.

Master dies 2/3rds way into film ... Perfect role for Sean Bean.

I was going to post something about a drought of Keanu movies.

I'm glad he's back.

I think Man of Tai Chi he wanted to shoot with some kind of special camera/angle thing but couldn't? I'm trying to remember something about that film I read a while ago

Soooo you're telling me Tom Cruise probably wasn't the Last Samurai?

Been looking forward to this one for a couple years. The Japanese have made about 50 movies based on this, and it's a really cool story imo. Interested to see how the fantasy thrown in will affect it.

Well... like GoT, this is a historical fantasy, so really anything goes. Keanu could tie it into the Matrix somehow and, as long as the foundation is laid out appropriately, it could work. I'm actually pretty amazed at all the legitimate Asian actors he got to play these characters.

ETA: the premise is that he is enslaved, apparently because he is a half-breed, but takes revenge upon his captors after they (apparently) enslave the rest of Japan. Fantasy elements are pretty much introduced throughout the trailer, so I'm guessing him helping to lead 47 Ronin against an army of supernatural creatures isn't that far-fetched in the world they created, particularly since the weakest part of the story to you (he being a half-breed) is woven into the fabric of the story.

OML getting worked up about small things seems to be a common thing with him.
