Rivals and Media Vantage point...

Blast me if you want, I could care less....
I am a huge sports fan, and I don't follow anything else other than LSU.
NFL: kind of like ''oh yeah ! it was Sunday yesterday'' (on Monday)
MLB: love it, but what's the standings been like the last month?
Just to say, that I don't just bleed purple and gold, I digest, engulf, swamp, immerse myself in LSU sports
So this is from a fan, who CAN take off his purple and gold glasses....
And I am exicted about the season as well, and I have hopes of greatness, but just for some perspective, so expectations are not blown up
WHY THEY ARE 'OVERLOOKING US'
Simple: The last three years we have been radically defensive driven,
Last year was a bit ho-hum defensive year, solid, solid, but not as much Tiger in the bite as 2010 and 2011. i.e. softer in the 4th and gave up more scoring drives.
So we lost several guys to the pros, when our defense took a miniature step back from the previous two seasons,
Why wouldn't we continue that way this year, when we lost so much.
Simply put, a defensive driven team, is likely not to have as good a defense. Added the schedule, and it looks daunting in respect to championship football.
WHAT they are 'OVERLOOKING'
LSU's offense is only a better red zone % away, a second year QB, NFL caliber OC, a 6'4 juco receiver, possibly a very valuable freshman at TE should be expected to solve this issue.
LSU could potentially have a better secondary with the freshman arrivals: making for potentially a better defense.
The schedule is a killer, but you may think, a solid defense with an efficient offense as in 2012 would be a nice remedy for the schedule.
All in all, biggest difference from 2011 to 2012 was the 2011 offense was more effective in the red zone, and thus we saw BLOW OUTS
What a season it was in 2011, 2013 could potentially be more like that than 2012.
Regarding 2012, hindsight is always 50-50, LSU was not a national championship team, primarily due to the opportunities lost in the red zone... YET! they were one defensive stop away from playing for another NC... THAT's Why TIGER NATION SHOULD HAVE HIGH HOPES
HIGH HOPES and not overblown expectations

No, his native language is Elyrian, as in Elyria, Ohio.
Could this be Les?
And for all the awkward syntax and sentence structure, he only misspelled one word - 'imerge.'
Cut him some slack - he sounds like a true Tiger fan.

I meant immersed... I don't know what happened there
Short said, I think if Oklahoma-Michigan-Ohio State played a little less effective on defense from one season from the other, and was a defense first team
I would not expect much from those schools either looking from the outside if they would have such a tough schedule.
But, I do not rule the Tigers out, as said, there is much reason for hope

meant LSU, not just football
And yes, follow, as in read and keep up,
And sports fan as in love sports, I played, coached, refereed, pretty much it all.
But as far as keeping up, only LSU and college football, just providing my LSU credentials as a true supporter and not a negatiger or anything in the like

You're not considered a huge sports fan in you only keep up with LSU.

Have it as you will. I am a big sports fan as in I really enjoy sports. It has been a big part of my life. I love talking about it.
I am also a father spending too much time on tiger droppings explaining how I am a sports fan.
