Duck boat advice

I'm about to purchase a Nissan TLDI 40 HP tiller outboard for my Xpress 1546 duck boat. I will be maneuvering through flooded timber on occasion. The motor has electric tilt and trim. Does anyone have experience with a CMC breakaway plate to protect the motor from submerged logs, etc? Pros? Cons?
