It started out good but it just dragged on with the plot being too preachy.

What's with the high score by critics? BTW Mama was alot more enjoyable than this.

Wow this is the first completely negative review I've read for The Conjuring

I think the OP is trolling. But on the off hand chance they are serious. I will say what I said before. It was a really good movie. But it gives you the, I have seen this all before feeling. There isn't anything new in this movie. And they borrow a lot of elements from other movies. So I can see how someone may think that it sucks, from that point of view.

Which part of this movie was scary? When I saw it, there were points where people openly laughed at how silly it was

No, I wanted to like this movie.
but I still found so many parts outright goofy. Remember when they're investigating the armoire and it cuts out to reveal the witch, crouched on top? It was about a step above "AND THEN A SKELETON POPPED OUT!!!"

When did a skeleton ever pop out?

The fact that you said Mama was good shows you are trolling bro.

Spoilers:

Why did they make such a big deal about that damn doll? I felt like they could have cut all of that out unless I'm missing something.

Found it to be a little creepy, so I liked it. My teenage daughter likes horror flicks and the reviews seemed to rule out much profanity or sexuality, so I took her. She enjoyed it.

BUT...didn't like the unrated trailer for We're the Millers.
About a dozen or more references to cocks/dicks, and numerous F bombs. A lil embarrassing. Are these kind of trailers normal for R rated movies?

The first hour of Mama was pretty good

I thought Mama was scarier than Conjuring though.

Bullshite. Mama sucked. It was a huge let down. The conjuring was awesome. Scary movies don't scare me, but this one was different.

We enjoyed the hell out of this movie.

Not sure how it was "preachy". If you're going to have a possession movie set in the 70's it makes sense for there to be a lot of Catholicism involved.

Only one person laughed during the movie, and he was a fat black a-hole that sat alone and was seeking attention.
