Good for him. Southland conference is a good spot for your first real coaching job.

he couldn't be kept on as a grad asst anymore here. Good for him. First step into a long coaching career for Blake. Maybe he can take over for Javi in a few years

If you knew better, you wouldn't want this.

Working under Ron Maestri is nothing but good for a young coach

Always wondered...how do the "volunteer" coaches earn money? Are they able to get paid for camps, etc.? Maybe they are all just OT ballers who do not need a salary to live on.

They don't earn it from coaching. Camps hardly help, but there are also lessons or other part-time jobs. It's usually a 1-year thing and you hope to get hired as an assistant the next year.

I'll take my chances! All I see Javi doing is sitting on the bench with a huge arse band-aid on his chin!

Dean > Javi

IMO he will take over at UNO when Maestri is done in a few years.

For those that don't know Alex Edward will be staying on as a undergrad assistant coach.

Then you're clearly delusional, or have very little frame of reference when it comes to college baseball coaches.

Blake Dean once hit on my younger cousin in college. When he introduced himself and my cousin said, "What was your name?" He said, "Blake Dean.....just google me."

I hope Blake has a chance in the future to come back to LSU that is where his roots are at.
