I searched but I can't find it.....when did LSU start wearing Gold tunics instead of the navy blue of the Seventies? When did we become the Golden Band from Tigerland?

1984, my 4th year in TB. Best Tiger Band Album cover of all time was for the 1984 GBFTL.
Been called the Golden Band from Tigerland since at least the 1950's. Before that, during the Long governorship, known as The Show Band of the South.

Never heard of the navy, but my guess is they changed when Dr. Swor got here (1964ish). I was in Tigerband from 2001-2006, so it was a bit before my time. I'll try to ask my aunt who was a majorette under Dr. Swor and try to report back.

They were navy (called royal purple but they were navy) going back to at least the Swor days. Back in the 1960's they had a purple cape with an L on it with the crossbelt front. My first years we had the two choices of a crossbelt front or the Tiger face with diagonal gold stripe front with the two choices of a gold back with a navy L or white back with a navy L.
