Gary Laney @GLaneyESPN #LSU folks sold on the progress of freshmen Tre'Davious White, Tashawn Bower, Greg Gilmore and Lewis Neal. Possible early impact guys.

Possible early impact guys? Didn't we lose 11 juniors early?

Lewis Neal is probably the hardest worker on the team. You will see alot of freshmen step up this year.

It moved in a completely non-homo way.

Very much so. Tre'davious White can cover just about anybody.

We need some help on the D line. Already know that Thomas and LaCouture are ready to contribute. Now with Gilmore we have 2 starters and 3 solid backups rotating at DT.

Bower and Lewis both have the size, quickness, and technique to play right away. That gives us 5-6 guys at DE. Our depth on the line is SEC quality. While we have plenty of guys in the linebacker core and secondary.

I predict another top 10-15 defense in the country. Top 25 at worst, which I don't see happening.

He shut down RSJ multiple times. Him and Hargreaves were like 1a and 1b last year.

Lewis Neil seems to have a great outlook on life. On twitter hes always positive. I expect he to contribute early and often. I think we all knew Tre' White would contribute early. Can't wait for the season.

I like that Tre could possibly come in an be a true lockdown from day 1. With Mills on the other side that would allow Collins to be the Nickel. Have fun throwing on that secondary.

Great to hear this--all those mentioned are defensive players. A lot of those losses were because of star defensive performers turning pro early.

Just hope Tre White still has the same foot speed, and likely does, so the extra weight should help vs. the physical receivers in the SEC.

Yep. For basically the whole week. He also shut down 6'6 Derrick Griffin.

A good bit is probably lower body muscle. Which should make him faster. He probably still has some to go before he hits his peak. Once that happens it's going to be extremely hard for opposing receivers to do almost anything against him.

The more realistic expectation would be for T.White to slip into the nickel from Day 1.

I don't see why you would want a true freshman as your #1 or #2 corner from day one. Hell, even PP7 didn't accomplish that while at LSU.

If thats what we get on defense, with the offense I expect....expect another 10 win season and maybe more.

Neal was criminally underrated on recruiting sites. Never understood it.

Thomas did not impress this past spring...

I watched the spring game film over 10 times. Thomas played against the starters. Specfically Pocic and Turner. Both potential 1st-2nd round picks.

He did fairly well considering how badass Turner is. Thomas has good athleticism and a high motor. He needs more time to become a starter. But he definitely has the ability to play in the rotation this season. Mainly on 3rd down as a pass rusher.

It's important to consider how good Trai Turner actually is. Probably the best RS-Sophomore guard in the country. Who has Chance Warmack potential
