Should be interesting. Let's hope he can keep his walk rate down. Hoping he can stick as a starter.

To add.....

quote:

@astros: Since a promotion to OKC (AAA) on 6/27, Springer has hit .422 (19x45) with 6 HR, 15 RBI, 5 SB and a .519 OBP in 13 games

Springer is raking.

We still have a move to make...correct?

Harrell to bullpen
Paredes optioned to AAA
Cosart promoted
Justin Maxwell coming back Friday from rehab stint

That leaves us at 26 right?

I saw a story or a tweet or something mentioning Villar and a possible pre-September call up.

I wish they would just get rid of Maxwell. Guy is useless. Maybe he's just a stop gap until the George Dinger (SWIDT?) call up.

Also, I must say....I'm not ready to say it just yet, but has a light come on for Wallace?

Glad to see I have found the DAT, what do you guys feel about Norris resting Sunday....
quote:

Astros manager Bo Porter said Tuesday that pitcher Bud Norris will not make his scheduled start Sunday to keep him fresh in case he is selected as an injury replacement for the All-Star game, MLB.com reports. The team will use someone in the bullpen as a starter or call up a player from the minors to make the start.
To me it kind of seems like a possible trade could be in the works and they do not want to risk injury, what say you guys?

I'd really rather not trade him. I'd rather move him to Closer.

We're not hurting for prospects, so unless we could get a gold mine for him (which we won't) then I'd rather not move him

No such thing as too many prospects. Even if you get a medium level guy you never know he could become (even if its 1/100). If nothing else you can acquire a guy who could be traded later.

I don't know if any of you read Climbing Tal's Hill, but Jim Bowden from espn suggested this trade...

quote:

Altuve, Bud Norris and Chris Carter to the Royals for a huge package centered around outfielder Bubba Starling and Johnny Giovatella (from UNO) along with a boatload of other prospects.

RAPE!

Starling isn't exactly lighting up lower A ball. I wouldn't be overly excited about that guy.

Although, he needed lasik surgery after complaining about not being able to see at night. So,

Maybe he can have a "Wild Thing" like turnaround.

I'll pass on this trade.

I'd like to see what Altuve & Carter look like in a year or two.

As far as Norris goes, If I were GM, I wouldn't accept anything less than a bullpen arm and a mid level 2nd baseman. But that ain't gonna happen most likely.

If we got a good stop gap 2nd baseman, I wouldn't mind trading Altuve. If not, then keep what we've got.

If they can get a top prospect like Starling for Altue and Carter than they absolutely have to do it.

Sorry, I wouldn't miss Altuve and his career .325 OBP all that much.

Thanks, but no thanks.

He'll be a 24 year old freshman QB at Nebraska before it's all said and done.
