Has anyone had any experience in purchasing a vehicle through a sheriff’s sale? I will be able to view the boat before the auction next week. Any suggestions or items to look out for are greatly appreciated.

Where is the boat? What kind is it? I may be interested in looking if you don't end up getting it.

Keep in mind. You are not buying the boat. You are buying the motor.

Personal opinion. Boats are only as good as the people who maintained them. If they couldn't pay the payments do you really think they maintained the boat well? I would rather purchase a more expensive boat that I can verify how it's been taken care of.

A friend of mine bought a really nice Nautic Star from a bank repo. Bought it about 10 years ago and it's run like a clock for the most part.

This. Problem is that you can not take it anywhere to be checked before buying. Boats are like a book, you don't know the story till you read it.

i went look at it this morning. The boat is nice and it had a few more options that i expected. The trailer had a swing out tounge which is a plus. On the negative side, it had a smaller motor than what was advertised on the listing. It is a 2011 so i can't expevt too much to be wrong with the motr, but you never know what the previous owner did to it.

Since the motor is different than the posting, i may low ball the heck out of them just to make a point of a false add.
