2012 vs. 2013

Why is everyone expecting so little from us this season. There is literally no respect for this team. I have seen rankings that put LSU as low as #18.. I personally think this team will end up finishing 10-2 or better in the regular season.
Look at the offense:
With a proven offensive coordinator, a senior QB who has the ability to become a superstar, a stable of talented running backs, two of the best receivers in the SEC plus the addition of Q and Brazil, and a more than solid offensive line this offense could be nasty. If Hill's punishment isn't bad and Mett improves his pocket presence, I see this offense in the top 20 nationally.
Defense:
On the line Ego and Freak will lock down the inside run, Hunter and Rasco have the speed to stop the run on the outside. At linebacker I think Barrow and Kwon will be All SEC and Beckwith will make an immediate impact. In the secondary Papa, both Jalens, Tre White, and Ronald Martin is a pretty solid unit top to bottom. Plus this defense is young and energetic and a lot of players will need to prove themselves so I expect a lot of big hits and firey plays out of these kids.
While I love the fact that people are sleeping on us, I hate having to hear people say LSU will finish 9-3 or 8-4, I just don't see that happening.

TCU can't get here faster enough. If we explode in that game, I imagine that will shut up a lot of people.

I think I'm with you. This team is going to make some sound in Jerry World.

Remember... Les Miles is still the head coach. Many opposing coaches and most of the media, do not respect Miles at all. . Plus when you lose to Clemson the way we lost, I never expected us to be ranked high in the preseason. And frankly, with Miles as head coach, I think we lose several this year. Miles' best quality as our head coach is recruiting. But this year, recruiting wont be enough to overcome Miles' deficiencies like it did in '11

Your entire argument is based on "potential", "has the ability", "if punishment isn't bad", and the contributions of a handful of true freshmen.
I'm not being a negatiger, I'm just saying your argument is not on solid ground; it relies on hope more than anything and this is the reason why people who make polls and publish predictions aren't hedging there bets on this year's team.
It is my hope though that this team will take a page from the 2011 team, work there tails off in the summer, and hit the ground running against TCU and set the tone for a monster season, thus living up to there potential and winning an SEC championship and MNC in the process.
