Kyle Peterson ?@KP_Omaha 14m Heading back to TD Ameritrade today, preparing for @CollegeHRDerby tomorrow night. New balls and old bats will make for a good show.

Isn't using different balls and the old bats basically admitting there is a problem with the current equipment. Wouldn't want one home run to win a home run derby. That wouldn't be any fun for the fans. Maybe they could just have a bunt off

Major league baseball is now the "boys's game" and college baseball is the "man's game"

major league wooden bat and low seem baseball is more lively than college ping bat and high seem baseball

Small ball derby! The most well placed bunt wins.

Admitting there is a problem

Not when the changes were made for safety. Unless they start giving the pitcher a screen in games, the NCAA can hide behind that excuse.

exactly. Its a safety issue. but move the fences in and then it works for both. safer but still a HR threat

ISWYDT

LSU loses if that's the case

ETA: BREAKING NEWS: Rhymes just flew out to the center fielder. That's now 8 outs for him at TD Ameritrade

There's not much of a difference actually. Someone posted a chart a while back.

There will be plenty of homeruns. They use MLB BP balls which are laced tighter and have smaller seems. I hit 7 last year in a juco hr derby. I'm sure some of those guys can hit more.

Really? Not saying you're wrong, but that's hard to believe.

Maybe they should just use a pitching machine

Charts be damned. I pitched against the "bazooka bats". Gave up a double off the wall at a large college stadium that I swear to this day was hit off the leather grip. It was ridiculous.
