Saturday Fishing....Need Ideas

I'm looking to go to either Lake Verret or Bayou Black. What say you TD? Any advice?

Fished Verret this past Saturday. Gar fish EVERYWHERE. They are spawning on all the grass beds and chasing spinnerbaits. Only caught 2 bass.

Was at a buddies camp near shell beach landing. Fished cracker head and Ike's canal. Also fished tranquille. Gar in each one. Tranquille wasn't as bad as the other two.

Water looked good though in most areas I fished. Good bit of perch jerkers fishing canal openings on lake. Looks like they were catching catfish under a cork.
