Favorite Movie Ending Ever?

For me it's Fight Club. Shutter Island is a close second.

I think something is wrong with me. I do not like that movie. Seen it three times just to give it a fair shake.

Great one. Is it true that it wasn't the scripted ending but instead the actor improvised and they kept it?

This probably isn't the thread for this, but I am curious as to how you can't like this movie. I think it is absolutely brilliant at demonstrating the absurdity of Cold War culture and politics in a hilarious context. It's without a doubt one of my favorite films.

no, "We'll Meet Again" was suggested by a friend of "the actor" aka Peter Sellers, the great comedy writer Spike Milligan

The only thing special about the ending that I know about is that it was originally planned to be a pie fight.

which was shot, edited, and scored. Kubrick felt the scene didn't work and cut it from the film.

The scene still exists -- there are photos from it online -- but the Kubrick estate will not allow it to be shown publicly

Maybe not my favorite, but for some reason this one is what I always think of first with awesome movie endings:
Arlington Road

Probably not. I realize that it was a clever observation (and still is) on the absurdity of the Cold War and recognize that it had some funny parts, but it never truly landed home for me. And it's not some overall distaste for old films; I love old films. This one just didn't do it for me. Didn't think it was that funny.
