For a five-star prospect, Tony Brown has been able to navigate through his recruitment process while keeping a relatively low profile, often putting a premium on time spent with family or focus put on sports.
Such was the case this spring, when the Ozen High star kept college visits and recruiting stops to a minimum.
With his focus on track, the rewards came quick. After a stretch of strong outings highlighted his junior season, Brown kicked off his summer with a bang.
On Thursday afternoon, Brown scored a big victory when he won the USA Junior title in the boy's 110-meter hurdles at the USA Junior Championships in Des Moines, Iowa.
Brown recorded a 13.69 into a -3.5 headwind to win the hurdles.
With the win, Brown qualified for Team USA, which will compete at the 2013 Pan American Junior Championships held in Medellin, Colombia in late August.
On the recruiting trail, Brown remains one of the most coveted football prospects in the country, ranked by the 247Composite as a 5-star and the No. 1 player in the state of Texas.
Brown is also ranked as the No. 3 cornerback in the 2014 class and the No. 10 overall prospect.
LSU remains the popular choice when predicting which program Brown will sign with next February, with 29 of the 30 247Sports crystal ball selections going with the Tigers. Brown is also high on Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M, Florida State and Ohio State.
Brown's sister, Ozen standout athlete Bealoved Brown, signed a track scholarship at LSU this past spring and is set to enroll in classes in Baton Rouge this fall.
I sure hope he comes to LSU....he will be another great DB to reign from LSU into the league...

Colombia is pretty safe these days. It's a lot safer than, say, Mexico.
