I like this idea that somebody posted in another thread. First, we draft McLemore, Oladipo, or Porter at 6. Next, we acquire pick 13 and Marion or Carter from dallas and use that pick to draft CJ. Then, trade GV or EG with Lopez for Cousins. FInally, sign iggy to a 3 or 4 yr deal to bring leadership to this team.

I realistically can see the 6 and 13 pick happening. The iggy one i will say is 60/40 that he will go somewhere else. Finally, all i got to say about Cousins is that you never know.

If we got the 13th pick, I wouldn't mind Lucas Nogueira. But, the Pelicans need players that can help them now, not in a couple of years.

Totally agree, which is exactly why I think we were the ones that told Saric we'd promise him IF he played here this year. You keep hearing people talk draft and stashing and using the Spurs/Manu situation as the example, which is a totally different situation. 1. Manu was a 2nd round puck 2. We don't have the luxury of draft and stashing lottery players. We need someone to be available this year to play and get NBA experience.

What? It's pretty self-explanatory
i mean do they have better developers over there than we do here? why wouldn't we want him here as soon as possible if we draft him to get him familiar with our squad and develop him how we see fit? what's the benefit of having him stay their multiple years? i'm not familiar with drafting overseas players so i may be missing something here

One advantage is his contract doesnt start until he comes over here so we can let him mature overseas before bringing him. So if he stays over there 2 years, we get a 21 year old rookie with experience instead of a 19 year old that will need lots of development.

He's going to have a major adjustment coming to the NBA no matter what and even if he gets more years overseas he still might suck.

imo 13 is way too high to take a guy that needs multiple years overseas then will have another adjustment period when he comes here. that's 3 or 4 years before we even gonna know what we got in him. frick that noise. I can see using a late 1st or 2nd rounder for that type of gamble not early/mid 1st

yeah, we trade whoever would be picking first. give them davis for wiggins. but secretly clone davis. and give them the clone. with a destruct button. so during the first game, dell pushes the button and davis clone blows up but real davis gets a triple double.

Yeah, I don't know why he would stay in the Greek league when he could come play in the D-league and get used to the NBA game and maybe even play a few minutes in some real games at some point.
