i think joe alleva deserves a statue when the NEW TIGER STADIUM is finished.

i was out of state for 35 years and when i came back, i thought ts looked like shite. alleva listened to me and started the changes.

p.s. i don't want a statue of myself, thank you.

I agree that this looks great. We need to give Alleva credit. The cathedral of college football never looked better.

All the dorm windows have been replaced on the West side now.

its hard to see in the pictures but in person the new gates on the north side look pretty bad. the colors do not match the stadium at all. they spent a ton making the north end of the stadium looking great and i have no idea why they would put up this precast garbage that looks totally out of place.
It's exactly what they put up on the West Side. They're just extending it around to the North Side.

I personally don't like those "Draw Bridge" like covers over the gates and the "Family Name Gate BS" on them. The "Dominos" blocks on top of the columns are incredibly cheap and tacky looking. They could've just as easily contructed stone arch ways at the gates to better aesthetically match the arches of the original structure.

Those rooms could be remodeled into game day "For Rent" rooms for big donors and groups to pay for it, to use for bathrooms, party rooms, meeting rooms, for home games. Could be a source of money for LSU, if remodeled and planned right. I could think of about 10 friends who could put up $200 each for a private use room on game day. Food, drinks, A/C's, TV for other SEC games on cable TV,etc. Could be a money maker.

LSU did a study in the early 2000s and determined it's too costly to renovate the dorms, mostly due to asbestos removal. Also, the rooms are too small, no individual bathrooms, all the plumbing and wiring has to be redone to bring up to code, etc.

Study concluded it would take 20 years for LSU to recoup its investment. It's a nice thought to do something with the dorms, but unfortunately it's not happening.

My old student job while attending LSU was in one of the rooms in Tiger Stadium. Very boring job of slicing otoliths taken from drum fish to age them. On a bright note, I did walk on the field several times (not during the games unfortunately).

That whole side is s cluster so they go along with the rest of the stuff that's there. On the north side they just look ridiculous since everything will match except the gates. The lawton room, weight room & rehab pool all match the stadium.

Looks like it'll be 10x as hard to sneak in the student section.

Well I hope so. The game I went to last year everybody outside the stadium was hawking their frickin' tickets because there was a little rain in the area. WTF.

Unfortunately, the people in charge of construction on LSU's campus have absolutely no sense of style. They could learn of few things from Alabama.

See: stupid fricking rotunda covered in bamboo bullshite Ourso building. That thing is going to look as dated as Middleton in twenty years.

I noted that somewhere deep in the bowels of the addition, where the structural integrity is not affected, we're sure to one day find "Roll Tide" stamped into the concrete....

I can't imagine what you think of the new Patrick Taylor renovation

It just looks cheap to me (Ourso). hell, there was already leaking in the main auditorium. Now I see how they cut 10 mill off the project.

I agree, i don't know why they couldn't of designed a building similar to the School of Coast and Enviroment or the new Animal & Food Sciences Lab by Tureaud. I could of made better decisions than half of those idiots..

Longterm Design planning:
Pleasant Hall
Cox Communications
Law School
School of Architecture
Journalism Building
New Bookstore

Shortterm Design Planning
Middleton Library
Lockett
Ourso
Patrick F Taylor

In 20 years, everyone is going to be like wtf were we thinking and I'm gonna be like uh huh

As much as I hate the Gumps, I have to give them a lot of credit for how they've managed to keep BDS looking great despite additions and renovations.
