Wenger is all about getting value, but he then pins his hopes on a squad that becomes injury ravaged by mid-season, as happened in every year we looked like we could compete. We need to buy quality depth and start chasing the title. Playing on our heels every year hoping other teams frick up so we can secure fourth is eventually going to backfire. It's entirely reliant on Wenger and frankly isn't sustainable.

We have lots of cash to spend so there is little reason to save it.

When I was recently on arsenal.com I saw something that basically amounted to a blogpost by Wenger. Essentially, it was a brief essay on why building a culture in a club is more important than self indulgent sprees by some billionaire. Pretty good indirect summation of his philosophy. I'll try to link it if I can find it.

the problem is thats the value of thses players. if he would have bought suarez out if ajax we wouldnt have to soend this much. Its his fault. we could have gotten other players over the years for cheaper. we have a string side, but we havent had our best 11 healthy in several years.

I think wenger is overpaid. but the market says otherwise.

A group of our younger players drew 4-4 with a mostly full strength League One side today (Leyton Orient). Wellington Silva scored a brace and apparently looked impressive. Akpom also scored. Aneke, Eisfeld and Olsson featured as well.

did you do the red membership? if so, how hard was it to get in and get a ticket? i'll be gunning for a Spurs ticket come August 7th.

Not gonna lie, it took over an hr in the queue. You sit and watch a gray horizontal bar gradually turn red. I woke up right before 10 am London time (when they go on sale) though and tried right then and there.

Most of the lower sections were booked but uppers were fine. I got an upper center right for about 54 GBP, but Tottenham will absolutely be a Type A game and not Type B. I can only imagine the queues for that. Although I would be jealous, hope it works for ya.

Yes to red membership question.

I woke up at 4:45am (DC time) last year and logged in just before 5:00am to get tickets for the Everton game... which was a pretty big matchup at the time, if you remember. I was only in the queue for about 10 minutes and got access to buy my ticket pretty easily.

The only problem was, I didn't realize I was limited to only one. I needed two. So I ended up getting two from some online site, about 10 rows up near midfield... and then when the FA Cup postponed the match, I was shite out of luck, cause I scheduled my holiday around the fricking Arsenal-Everton match. I wanted to choke somebody. But at least I was able to sell the tickets at a pretty big loss.

BTW - do we know if the first team is playing this weekend? if Higuain scores against us on Saturday, I'm going to start a riot of some sort.

i got on early and then at 5am ET (because tickets for red members go on sale one month prior to each match at 10am London time), I refreshed the screen and the link was there to go get the tickets. Once you click it, you wait in a queue... I only had to wait 10 minutes, but acgeaux said he waited over an hour, so I guess it fluctuates based upon certain factors, I don't know.

Then once you're through, there is a layout of the stadium with the available seats highlighted. Click the seat you want and pay.

I never got to actually pay, because I selected two seats next to each other and then when I got to the next screen, it said I exceeded my ticket allotment. So I cried, shut off my computer and went back to bed.

Prediction: If we don't buy someone impactful before the summer ends, and if Spurs keep Bale, we will finish behind Spurs.
