Should we try to trade for Rondo?

Say we acquire the 13th pick from the Mavs: Do we then call the celtics and offer one if not both of our first round picks for rondo? Plus if we trade both picks we might be able to keep Vasquez and Lopez and then flip them for somebody else.

For what price? If it's Vince Carter you might be ok, but if we take on Marion we don't have the cap space to trade picks for Rondo.

If this deal with Clippers get done, I'd call and inquire about Rondo.

That probably wouldn't get it done (we'd have to send back a decent vet on a good short-term contract) and I wouldn't do it anyway...I really dislike Rondo.

For us to take him on, we would have to be raping them in the deal.

He is a ball hog that still gets a good amount of assist per game not a bad combination IMO. Plus him, AD, and EJ can be a nice big 3 IF they stay healthy.

Nah, thanks, but I'll pass. Rather they keep Greivy and draft Burke to back him til he learns the NBA game and then takes over.

I highly doubt Burke will be a better player than rondo career wise, and most likely we trade Vasquez while his value is high.

You don't know that. The kid had the same stats in college as CP3. I am not sayin he will be another CP3, but he is capable of doing a good job assists wise. The NBA game is much more wide open than college, he will have ample opportunities to work on this craft. And neither Rondo or CP3 shoots like this kid from outside.

I'm not worried about Burke's offense. Between his own shooting and his ability to run the pick and roll, he should be golden there.

I'm more curious about how well he can play defense at the NBA level, given that he is seen as small for a point.

How is he a ball hog? Wtf?

He probes the def better than anyone in the league now that Nash has slowed. He'd be a force with AD

The guy that recently led the league in assists and shoots over 50% is a ball hog? Lol

apparently you don't pay attention to what's going on with him and the Celtics. A lot of the current players says he hogs the ball too much sometimes and doesn't pass enough. He also doesn't get along with Rivers now as someone posting pointed out. The dude has just become his own fan now and looks to score more than pass now. I don't know what you've been watching. lol

shite, his last comment was while being out and away with his injury was "a lot of new faces developed while I was gone, well, we'll just have to see how they jell with me when I return". lol

One argument against Rondo is that an "elite" PG hasn't won a title since Tony Parker in 2007 (Rondo wasn't elite at the time of the Celtics' championship)

The past two seasons has nothing to do with the current season and what he was doing up til he got hurt dummy. I guarantee he wouldn't have led the league this season had he played a full season. he was more about himself this season, his head had swelled. Why do you think Pierce, Garnett and Rivers was starting to complain about him.
