Do some coaches contribute to players being too tentative in high pressure games

Maneiri said the players were too tentative. Yet he was giving them the riot act when they would come off the field after their at bats. Baseball game is a funny game especially when in a slump. The question is does it help to jump arse on baseball players in a slump that are pressing in big games? Football is different. You can just get pissed and run over someone.

you're probably not trying to troll, but are you the same kind of fan that gets on miles for not getting on his players enough?

Again I say football is different than baseball. I simply dont think it works in baseball with high pressure situations when people are trying to get out a funk. They already know they are struggling and in my personal opinion it contributes to them being more tentative. There is no doubt hitters hit better when they simply swing relaxed and confident.

Idiot.

Do you know what a slump is?

How do you make the CWS on a slump?

Baseball is baseball - LSU freakin' lost two close games. Those teams that beat LSU made the tournament for a reason...if you want to crown LSU's asses w/o having to beat anyone then crown LSU's asses...but you have to win...not every loss is because of some slump or funk or bad coaching or whatever.

And nobody goes to Omaha slumping...teams lose in the CWS - just ask Carolina!!! Year after year in the CWS FINAL!

If you would have asked me this before the UCLA game I would have said hell yes in a single game situation if a guy is going up there swinging at trash every time jump his arse about it. Obviously a prolonged slump requires a different approach.

However, I think Maineri did jump on some players in the UCLA game but they still went up there hacking at eye high crap.....which is, I assume, why he said he couldn't coach them to lay off the high pitch on Sunday.

If you dont think Bregman and Rhymes were in a slump and pressing in the College World Series than I don't know what to say to you.
