Ranking LSU Baseball Program Choke Jobs

Admins, please don't anchor. This is not meant to bash LSU or the players. Some of us deal with disappointment differently. I, personally, like to sit back, assess, then move on.

I LOVE LSU. Always have, always will. Even though they completely shite the bed, I still love this team.

Katz, Jones, Cotton, Rymes and other seniors, draft picks...I'm gonna miss the shite out of you guys.

Bregman, there is no doubt you will make up for this soon.

However, what happened this year was easily one of the top 5, if not top 3 choke jobs in the history of the program.

We will be back in Omaha next year. Book it.

With that said, here are my top 5:

1) 1998: Going for three in a row, LSU wins the first two games of the CWS, the promptly loses two games to USC..a team coming out of the loser's bracket with a depleted pitching staff under the old format.
2) 2013: Good God, where do you begin? Best regular season record, best SEC record (both in school history), win the SECT, go 5-0 in regionals, then your 3, 5 and 6 hole hitters go O for Omaha. Not to mention terrible coaching.
3) 2012: Stony Brook. Enough Said.
4) 1988: Ben McDonald Grand Slam
5) 2003: LSU wins the SR at home, dog piles and nearly kills Mestepey. LSU goes 0-2 in Omaha due to not having a stable starting rotation.

Yes, I could easily name five games we ripped the hearts out of opponents too...

But I won't.
