These two dudes started a group/campaign to bring a professional soccer team to Birmingham....We just got an AO chapter as well...I think with the success of our minor league baseball team (Barons) and Birmingham being a soccer town it could work...

I think the logo looks pretty decent...not sure why they chose that color scheme....Maybe the red for Red Mountain and the yellow for the Yellow Hammer....

T.V. interview...

yeah, I'm not crazy about it either...There's too much potential for a different nickname...

Iron
Vulcan
Blast (Furnace)
Magic
Steel
etc....

Birmingham Steel FC would be awesome, but that's because it sounds so much like Bethlehem Steel, our nation's first major soccer club.

Think Philly has their likeness nailed down. They created this beauty.

I would have went with sandwiches as the team nickname.

The 'Ham Sandwiches would be the best name in sports.

It does sound a little silly. I guess it works for West Ham though

Yeah, but they aren't really the West Ham Hammers. It's West Ham United Football Club, nicknamed "The Hammers."

I know the tall guy, he was the assistant girls soccer coach at my HS when I played. Such a flamer, I almost can't support this move now

Yeah....I like these better.

But I think Atlanta would get one way before Birmingham.

I don't think they're pushing for MLS...or at least I hope they're not. Most likely NASL or USL Pro.

there was always rumors that the Alabama Sports Foundation had a deal with MLS to get a team if we had built a dome.
