Is the Louisiana talent in 2014 a Miles hater's worst nightmare?

Personally, I'm in the "I love Les Miles" camp.

But for those of you that can't stand Miles, is it worrisome or troublesome for you that:

1. LA's stacked in 2014, the likes of which is rarely seen
2. Mile's will get the lion's share of this talent
3. Said talent will probably insure many more 10 win a year seaons
4. It pretty much guarantees Miles another 5 or so years

I know that even the most ardent Miles detractors wouldn't wish crappy recruiting classes for LSU, but I'm curious as to how y'all balance things like hating the coach, but wanting the team to do well.

You'll see them come out a bunch in the next few months. We can't sign every blue-chipper this year so every one of them that goes elsewhere will be followed by multiple rantard threads claiming Miles is the worst coach ever. Just watch.........

There are going to be 50+ kids that sign with BCS conference schools this season. This is a Miles hater's dream scenario.

They will always spin it to their liking. If the 2014 class doesn't win a championship they will say he can't develop talent and whatnot. Miles haters will hate him till the die they die

This.

If we don't land D. Williams, Robinson, LF, Noil, Blacknall, Quinn, Willis, Daub AND Paris, they will want him gone and say it's because of him we can't recruit worth a crap.

I think Miles is as good as his hires at offensive and defensive coordinator. When he has made the right hires he has proven to be extremely effective. When he has hired poorly his teams have struggled. He has always been a solid recruiter. I trust him in that department and don't doubt him there at all.

This. I am a big Miles fan, but I wish we told Upchurch "no thanks" and save room to get all three of Williams, Quinn, and Noil. But they have their pick of the litter, and they're the coaches for a reason

I don't get the 10 win seasons bullshite. You should be contending for a title every season at LSU just like Alabama has come to expect now.

we get the, LSU recruits itself crowd every year. the only reason the team isnt full of five stars is because of Les. blue chips are just luned up outside of the athletic offices. these ciaches dont spend years recruiting these players, they arent away from their families for days on end scouting the country.

This is LSU, weve always brought in #1 ranked classes until Miles got here.

we have been. we werent out if the sec west race until bama beat auburn the last game if the season. i fully exoect us to contend. but bama seriously git a boost with the rematch. they wouldnt be considered on a brink if a dynasty without the rematch.

LSU doesnt necessarily have recruiting advantages. some places in LA are closer to tuscaloosa than baton rouge. Bama is smack in the middke if sec territory. distance would never be a factor fir them, well minus texas, but they are closer to georgia and florida, the most fertile recruiting states in the south.

we also dont have better academics or facilities than any of the top programs. baton rouge outside of campus is a dump. im actually amazed with the Job les has done. we recruit nationally now and are bringing in more talent than ever and have our name on more talented players lists than most programs in the country. that says a lot.

the biggest thing, Louisiana just hasnt put out great qbs. Yeah there have been a few here and there, RP was supposed to be the one and we had no shot at the mannings. This has been a big problem for us.

The Mannings were already a done deal long before and with RP things happen. Louisiana traditionally has always been a QB rich state. Just things recently haven't been the greatest. Miles has continued what Saban started and that is the good thing. As for BR being a dump I would say Tuscaloosa is not much better. No, my main point is that LSU being the only big program in LA and always bringing in top talent from the state and surrounding areas should always be in the hunt for a national title just like Bama.

Lets see how many we actually get. If we lose several blue chips then there will be crys and tears abound. Some of the criticism is deserved and some is not. Obviously.

champ. You are spot on. I love miles, my only beef is, it takes him an extra year to fix a problem. That has driven me crazy. But, tigers through and through we are, no time for complaining. I am very interested to see how well LSU does this year.

I think they surprise a lot of people.

And Clemson has no where near our talent.
Miles critics often emphasize that his teams underperform.
Having loads of talent in La. helps encourage this perception for so long as LSU doesn't win championships.
Or loses to teams like Clemson.
