Hey guys,
My new gun arrived yesterday! It started life as a Remington XP-100 in 221 Fireball that I bought used in 1995. For years I'd planned on having it made into 6 Rem BR to go along w/ my XP-100 in 22 Rem BR. Finally got around to doing the project. The gunsmithing was done by Clarence Hammonds in PA; he also did the work on the 22 BR. At this point, the only thing that remains from the original gun is the action and bolt. The Kelbly barrel was bought about 10 years ago off the internet from a bench rest shooter who was changing barrels. It was originally chambered in 6 PPC. The stock is one Mr. Hammonds already had in his shop from an earlier project. It was alredy painted red. I'll repaint it to something else at a later date. The chamber is a "tight neck" so I've got to neck turn some brass. I'm hoping to take the new gun on a prairie dog hunt I'd already scheduled for 2 weeks from now. Hoping to work up a load this weekend w/ the Hornady 65 gr V-Max. I'll let you know how it works out.

Pretty cool, I had a Weatherby CFP chambered in .243 some years ago and I just couldnt get into it. I couldnt hit the broad side of a barn with that damn thing.
