I always hear those cool songs like Bon jovi and Peter frampton using talk boxes, even Aerosmith used one for their song sweet emotion... How do they work? I saw a picture of a tube in some guys mouth using one. Does he blow into it or what?

The guitar sound is sent up the tube from the box. You manipulate the sound with your mouth by moving it, making talking shapes, etc. you put a mic next to your mouth and the end of the tube and that's what sends the sound to the PA or whatever you are using to record. I used to have one. It was a nice toy but that was about it.
