I am looking for an inspirational or overcoming odds sports movie. It doesn't have to be within in the last year. No Rudy or Rocky movies. Can the board give me some good suggestions? Thanks

Miracle.
Friday Night Lights is actually fairly unique, as far as high school football movies go.

Does it have to be a film or would a documentary work?

I'll probably catch heat for this (no pun intended) but More Than A Game is pretty inspiring.

Caddyshack II.

but all jokes aside, I happened to catch that Kurt Russel movie on Starz a few weeks ago, I think it was called "Touchback"??? And it's not really a "Kurt Russel" movie, but he's in it. It's more about this guy who was a stud in HS, Mr. Football etc. but of course he gets hurt in his final game, completely ruining his future and forcing him to miss his full ride to tOSU. Then 10 years later, he magically gets a chance to do it all over again. It's more of a "appreciate what you have in life" movie than a sports movie, but it def has the sports backdrop and I thought it was pretty good. Kind of like The Family Man, if Nick Cage was a HS football star instead of a wall street stud.

Oh and "Here Comes the Boom" was strangely and surprisingly inspiring. It got me pretty krunk at the end and made me want to go workout real hard the next day.
