Just pay the extra $40 for the calcutta and have it last you 20 years.

For the price, you can't beat an Ambassadeur

Curado is a damn fine reel for trout and reds. You can't go wrong with one at all.

I was admiring the durability of my 20 year old calcutta and my 15 year old calcutta on Sunday. I bring them in for maitenace once every three years or when something breaks (rarely).

I have a Chronarch and the calcuttas win out over it.

They're made like tanks. I have a 150 that was made in 94, still goin strong. I've caught everything from catfish to mangrove snapper on that thing.

You will probably buy 2 or more reels in the amount of time you would own a Calcutta. I've had mine for 16-17 years (used to be my dad's). I have never taken it apart, only spray with reel magic after every use. Still works like a champ.

I found an old one buried in my shed that had to be at least 15 years old. Still works, but there's a grind in it. I'll have to take it apart and make it functional.

I'll go with my AG Revo Inshore. Casting and retrieve is smooth as can be and it's a beast with 22 lbs of drag. Fished a tournament with it last Friday and couldn't have been happier.

Also, like others have mentioned, really can't go wrong with a Calcutta either but the round design tends to wear out your hands as the day goes on. The really small, light and sleek design of the Revo Inshore makes it really comfortable to throw all day.

I have two curado's that I have abused for almost 20 years with no problem. I just purchase a caenan for my nephew and it works well so for... My next purchase will be a Calcutta..
