If he gives us 6 in game 1 can we come back with him in game 3 and then possible game 2 or 3 in finals? Assuming we stay in winners bracket.

Ranaudo started games 1 and 3 to get us into championship series and then started game 3 vs. Texas. 6 days b/w starts 1 and 2 and 5 days b/w starts 2 and 3. Ranaudo did only get us to the 4th vs. UVA in game 1 though.

He will pitch three. Opener in round one, a semi-final game and one of the three championship games...just depends how the games unfold...

I think he gets 3 starts. Mainieri will go to the pen and save his arm.

Best case scenario would be...

Game 1 v. UCLA: Nola (win)
Game 2 v. NCST/USCe/UNC: Eades/Glenn (win)
Game 3 v. whomever: Eades/Glenn (win)

Game 1 of championship series: Nola

So 2 if we don't lose before the championship series.

However, if we were to lose in game 2 or 3, I would bet that Nola would be called on the stave off elimination.

It depends on who we end up playing too.

Nola goes Gm 1, no doubter.

Nola will pitch Sunday in the first game.

Nola will pitch Friday to either clinch the bracket or to avoid elimination and force the "if" game on Saturday

Nola will then pitch most likely in Game 2 of the championship series on Tuesday on 3 days rest.

I think if we are 2-0 on Friday, Eades or Glenn pitches with hopes of saving Nola for the first game of the championship series. If Eades or Glenn loses that game, however, Nola would pitch the if necessary game.

And best worst case scenario would be to lose game 3 and Nola pitch game 2 of the championship

See...that is the issue. I think Nola goes on Friday, no matter what. If you lose on Friday and then pitch Nola on Saturday...you run the risk of losing the championship series 2-0 and not pitching Nola at all.

Pitching him on Friday guarantees him a Game 2 start in the final series.

Ideally, Nola starts Sunday, Friday, Tuesday because we're up by 10 runs in each game and he only throws 60 pitches per start.

Mainieri threw ranaudo Friday and then saved him til game 3 of finals. Of course we did win game 1 or else ranaudo probably goes game 2.

Exactly. If Nola throws Friday, then he could go again Tuesday IF needed...or he could be held back one more day IF we have the luxury of having won Game 1 of the championship series.
