Screen appears shot.... (its an 07 unit so they dont sell exact one anymore of course).
Can I just buy a new head unit only and plug it in?
Thanks

Did you check the inline fuse? Have power at the plug? If so, clean the plug and the head unit with some electric spray cleaner.
But yes, most of there head units use the same plug.
What unit you have?

Unit is still working but the screen looks fried... you can still read it if you look very closely.

What size screen? That might help tell what unit you have.

If you're gonna buy a new unit, go ahead and replace the pick up unit as well. They've made some nice changes with dual band sonar that make the new depth finders spit out some nice views.
But to answer your question, yes you can just change screens but it may not talk to the pick up unit as nicely as you might want.

Its about a 4-5" screen. Nothing special, just sonar.

Change out everything. Doesn't cost anymore.
