Anyone watch last night?

Spoilers below.

Interesting twist at the end with the power coming back on and the USA still having a somewhat functioning government in Guantanamo Bay.

I couldn't quite get the tone they were going for.

Are they trying to set the US up as bad guys, nuking Atlanta and Philly?

I'm very interested to see where they go with this show next season. Could next season be about the conquering of the country by the United States Colony?
The Monroe Republic and the Georgia Ferderation are done so the east coast is open for new leadership.

I agree with this mostly. I didn't see the dude blowing his brains out coming out to be a patriot.

It does set an interesting shift for the show if they go with it. Season one was the revolution of learning what happened to the power and getting it back on. Assuming the missiles are allowed to hit their target (big if since we don't see it), the east coast leadership is wiped clean setting up a new american revolution.

This revolution would have to recolonize the east coast and spread west again. But who trusts a government that turned off the power to begin with?

Lots if interesting directions, but I'm not even sure the writers don't kill the power again to stop the missiles which would be incredibly disappointing.

That ending was totally unexpected. Everything I thought I knew about Flynn went completely out the window. What a twist. Who would have thunk it?

Looking forward to season 2.

Revolution was taken off the "approval" list here on TD right around the 3rd episode. Seems the same people who have no problems suspending belief in dragons had an issue with suspending belief about power being knocked out throughout the world!

I will admit, I didn't continue watching the second half of the season right away. I had heard the storyline had gotten better, and picked it up again a few weeks ago.
I agree the storyline definitely got better, and the episodes began to flow better. Good to see there were enough people to stay interested in the show to warrant a 2nd season- I am interested to see where they go with this.

SPOILERS
What Randal did, did not make sense. So he wanted to destroy both the Monroe Republic and Georgia. . . but what about the Plains Nation and the other seats of power in the west?

While Philly may be gone, Monroe is still alive.

Monroe and Georgia have to go first in order for a US govt hiding in Cuba to have any chance of getting back in. They were the two strongest..and Georgia had financial backing and it was hinted that they had foreign support as well. As for the plains nation..they seemed primitive at best and have we even learned anything about the west coast?

Makes you wonder if Texas and the West Coast already knew the US government was waiting to take over again. Because if you're going to nuke ATL and Philly, why not everyone else while you're at it?

It was also interesting to find out that Flynn may not be the reason for the blackout(revenge for his son)... but the mysterious person who hacked the backdoor of Aaron's file could be. Seems as though they may be introducing multiple new characters.

I think somehow the missiles are stopped because if everyone is nuked, Bass becomes powerless and irrelevant. Miles and such would also just be peas in the pod.

Two totally different types of fantasy. You can get away with more in a show like GOT.

But with Revolution there was just so much stupidity and incompetence that people rightfully nailed them to the wall for it.

It wast complete garbage, but it wasn't very good either. It did get better when they killed the dumbass son.

Is season 2 a go? I heard the ratings were terrible after the long layoff. Stupidity again by NBC there.

It was already renewed for Season 2 before the layoff I think.

I know, I was just poking a bit of fun at how the board here acts in regards to tv shows and movies.

Revolution was able to turn itself around and picked up steam during the second half after they took the focus away from the characters and placed it on the problem of the power outage (which it should have been since day 1).

Yes, the series has been renewed for the fall and hopefully the writers don't fall flat on their face with this one.

I'm glad Miles is no longer being portrayed as a character out of a John Woo movie.

Still a show with holes but they seem to have noticed and they're trying to clean it up.

The first half was terrible but the second has really stepped it up. It almost seems as if the finale was written without hopes of a second season.

You find out that an american government still exists..and ICBMs have been launched at the 2 main rogue governments to give the US a foothold to use to take back the country. And seeing the president to close the show would've lead you to believe that all would be righted in the end.

Now though..I'm interested to see where they take the conflict.
