Is there any good way to try and match up with people that might be interested in splitting a 6 pack offshore trip? I would like to take my 2 teenage boys further out than their mother would want me taking them in my 20' boat, but I don't want to pony up the entire $2K it would likely take. I'm not exactly OT poor, but I'm sure as heck not OT rich.

Does anyone know any Captains that keep a list of potential clients that they can match-make a crew for charters?

'fin, I'm wanting to try and go Friday or Saturday. If the forecasts hold, I'd make a run in my boat if I had a second boat along, if you guys are heading out. Know any good spots?

I'm offshore right now just east of venice in Brenton sound blk. 25. Shrimp boats all over the place but haven't seen any boats chasing them yet.

Noticed another swell of freshwater coming downriver-guess Venice will have better bass fishing than speck fishing for awhile. (although the reds have been jumping in the boat)

I'll let you know. If I end up there instead of Cocodrie I'll get your # from Scott.

Oh, I take my 20' boat out to the deeper rigs in the circle, even to WD-117 a few times, but have to admit being a little squeamish about being a long ways out by myself with a single engine boat and the crap I usually have to fill it up with. Besides, last time out snapper fishing, I caught a well-known OB poster pot-licking my honey hole.

I haven't been able to get on a really hot mangrove bite for the past couple of years, other than the time a Nigerian worker on the rig tossed a big pot of spaghetti off the deck and it brought a huge school of them up.

Every since I took a wrong turn and got to have a discussion with the USCG about what I was doing inside the restricted area around LOOP, I've refrained from carrying anything more dangerous than a flare gun. Those guys had NO sense of humor.
