Question Concerning College Rosters

I noticed in an article that due to Laird's injury we might add Hunter Newman to the active roster. Really have no clue as to college rosters this late in the season.
Are we limited to number of players, etc.?
Someone please explain.

27 players can be on the roster. JaCoby is back, so Newman wasn't going to be available. But with Laird out, he's back in.
ETA: originally posted 25 players

Yes. Teams have 35 players on the roster (sometimes 34 if they lose a kid before the season, but its still counted against the numbers).
For non-SEC home games, you can dress and play everyone.
Only 27 are allowed to travel and be "active" during SEC play.
So from here on out, you might see a few kids (butler, sewald, reynolds, devall, etc) dressed, but they are not active.

Is this the case throughout the season or only during tournament, regionals and super regional?

I think NOT having Newman on the roster for a regional setting (possible 5 games) or a CWS setting could be problematic. Although I think we win this regional in 3 games, if for some reason we have to play 5, I hope Laird is out and Newman is in.

If Laird is good for the CWS, who gets deactivated? Barash?

It's 27, not 25. Newman will be there (still might not be used). Basically everyone who played during the last few series and SEC tourny is who you would consider active.

So a team can declare a player inactive, add, subtract, etc. throughout the season and during regionals, super regionals?

The guys you've seen playing on the weekends and who traveled to Hoover are active.. A lot of midweek players are inactive on weekends and will now be headed to their summer destinations.

I think Edward would be my choice, but you know CPM would neber do that to a four year senior and the next grad assistant.
With Barash I guess you'd need him as a bullpen catcher?

I'm pretty sure you can update it per round. Injuries happen. But you can't make changes in the middle of the regional, super, or CWS. Not 100% on this though.

Correct.

I would think Barash as well, Chinea could catch bullpen. If you have to have two guys up in the bullpen, I guess you could put Tyler Moore out there.
