Yep, I just watched that scene.
As to your other part, completely agree. I was just telling someone today how I used to like Robot Jox when I was a little kid, but now I realize how absolutely terrible the acting is in it.

BTW Gleaming the cube was mentioned earlier and I thought I'd post this video of gtc scenes set against m83's midnight city track. I didn't love gtc as much as rad, but I still loved it.

I loved watching gtc all the time too when I was growing up.
Nobody ever really mentions the movie anymore, so I find it hilarious that the dad of one of the baseball players that I work with always tells him to 'don't forget to gleam the cube' in text messages before every game.
