Cheaters Anonymous: Intervention Needed

So I have a friend who found the program cheat engine a while back. And ever since, my friend has found the joys of being able to change numbers in games to whatever he wants. Whether it be resources in stronghold, unlimited souls in dark souls, or unlimited gold/eridium/skill points in Borderlands. He has found the joys of cheating.

This may seem good, however my friend has found cheating ruins the game. Multiple games have been ruined because of cheating, and not just from cheat engine. This is frustrating to my friend because these are good games that he is able to cheat at. But the rush of being able to cheat is quickly followed by the apathy of realizing cheating took away the challenge of the game. The games that can't be cheated at are what remain to my friend as fun games to play. I can tell he wants to enjoy games he can cheat at again. However the allure of being able to cheat at them seems to be too strong for my friend.

So I come to the gaming board asking for help in intervening between my friend and his cheating ways. I'm sure others here have friends that have had cheating problems in the past. Any help in this matter would be appreciated.
