Are there any other hunters out there that hate watching these hunting shows on TV?

I don't hate watching them, I just wish they would have more fishing related shows after hunting season is over. I haven't seen a fishing show on TV in about a month .

I watch some of the local ones. Gives me some ideas on areas I hadn't considered.

I HATE them!!! I hunt everyday I'm off during hunting season and I work shift work so I hunt alot. I cannot watch those shows for a second! All they worry about is telling people what products to use and show footage of them driving in the truck.

There is no useful tips on hunting strategy. My and some friends go hunt Illinois public land every year and a deaf, blind retard can kill deer there if they have a private farm

Probably. I'm looking for location rather than strategy though.

Found out that Adak Island is an awesome place to hunt Caribou, virtually free if you have some airline miles. It's now on my list.

Seems like more product advertisement than anything. I understand that is what pays for the shows but it drags it out when they

"Just shot this mature buck at Triple Creek Farms, Phone # xxx-xxxx, with his Remington 700 Model .300, after he shifted his office depot chair and his under armour skysweeper pants didnt make a sound, filmed with his Canon super model eleventy billion camera, thanks for watching".

I don't usually watch the hunting shows on TV because of the constant product pushing, and the obvious set ups. It doesn't interest me to watch a herd of does eating from a bait pile then seeing the shooter come up and start chasing.

I heard Ben McDonald talk a few years ago at Bowie Outfitters, and he said he had been on a few of the big name shows. He said it is a lot of work for some of them, taking a week of footage to try to see a big deer. But he also said that most of them are on high fence and the landowner is using the show to promote his hunting trips.

He also said that those guys aren't any better hunters than you and me, but they have access to the best hunting areas in the country because of their TV shows and sponsors.

The only show I can stand to watch is the Primos guys. I usually enjoy their show, I think Will Primos is as genuine as it gets. Now Bill Jordan and Waddell can go jump in the lake as far as I'm concerned.

Sometimes. I still love to watch the Duck Commander and Buck Commander videos. A little bit more serious than their current show.

I watch them at night when the wife goes to sleep.

With the TV muted so I don't have to listen to the BS

Yeah that's true. Selling baits, rods, boats and everything else. Very little fishing anymore.
