Most memorable concert moments

Not necessarily your favorite concerts but just something that happened during a concert that made it memorable

1985- Bon Jovi, first concert I ever saw, Jon came out wearing this American flag cape & I thought it was the coolest thing I'd ever seen

1987- Tesla, festival show that I made my buddy sit for about 5 hours to save our 10th row seats, he didn't believe me that the place would fill up, we turned around before showtime & it was packed, there were like 15,000 people in the stands

1988- not the concert itself but somehow I talked my parents into sleeping overnight on the sidewalk of Mainstream Records for tickets to Van Halen's Monsters of Rock tour. at like 11PM a guy in a lounge chair near me threw his Kentucky Fried Chicken bones over his shoulder onto the grass and cops swarmed in from everywhere and made everyone go home. I had to call my parents on a payphone and have them come and pick me up

1990 - Pantera/Exodus/Suicidal Tendencies- Phil stage dived on top of me. it was the loudest show I'd ever heard and about 120 degrees in the venue

1990- The Smithereens, Pat the lead singer smoked half a cigarette then gave it to my buddy and finished smoking it, he kept the butt for a long time after that

1992- Skid Row (with special guest Soundgarden)in Green Bay, they filmed the video for Quicksand Jesus, we watched the video at the bar when it premiered on Headbanger's Ball a few months later, probably the only time it ever aired on MTV

Matisyahu pulled me on stage to rock out with him for his encore a few years ago. Had my cell out and got a sweet POV video of the crowd. Just a cool thing I like to look back on every now and then.

Allman Brothers 1997- first concert, 10 years old, first time I smelled weed. Left early because I felt 'weird' . Saw Ramblin' man though.

2004 - First time I saw The Dead (- Jerry of course)

2002 - Bob Dylan first time. Zevon had just passed, or was about to so he played 3 songs of his. He was into his keyboard at the time, and the guitar player (i'm blanking on who it was) put his foot up on Bobby's keyboard and almost fell down.

1998- Aerosmith at the Starwood in Nashville. Everytime they saw a country singer in the audience they pointed them out. Leann Rimes and Reba were the two I remeber.

1995- Bad Company & Ted Nugent at Joe Davis Stadium in Huntsville. Bad Co. drummer I believe was the only original member. He ran the show. Right before one song he introduced it with "If you don't know this one then God help you". It was Shooting Star.

1995- White Zombie at the Starwood. Me and my group had run into about 15 other folks from Huntsville that we knew and were in the grass area. I lit up a doobie and immediately a security goob comes over, yanks it out of my mouth, throws it on th eground and grinds it in. I yelled at him something to the effect of "you could have just told me to put it out". He starts to give me crap like he is going to do something and my group surrounds him real quick. Punked his bitch ass.

Got a bj on the camera platform of the Compaq Center at a U2 concert. We decided to climb up there to have more room.

I saw Bad Company with Damn Yankees opening in Milwaukee, 1991 I think. It seemed like most of the people were there to see Damn Yankees. Shortly after Bad Company started some people in the front row were still holding up their huge Damn Yankees banner. In between songs, the singer Brian Howe was obviously pissed and shouted "HEY, WE'RE NOT THE DAMN FOOKING YANKEES!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Seeing Weird Al twice. No particular moment, the whole show really. Dude was my childhood icon and I attribute much of my sense of comedy to him so it was a quite a thrill to finally get to see him. I was 25 at the time and felt 7 again.

Alice in Chains acoustic show at the HOB in 2007. The whole show was amazing but the best moment was when they played Rooster and the whole crowd was singing along for the entire song.

James Hetfield joining Down for Bury Me in Smoke at the NO Arena in 2008. My two favorite frontmen from my teen years jamming together on stage. It was like being 14 again.

re: Most memorable concert moments

My brother and I were buying some hash from a totally stoned hippy type at a Who/Grateful Dead show at Oakland Coliseum. The guy set his backpack on the ground while we conducted the transaction. My brother was checking out the goods and making the purchase. When we finished our business the guy walked off into the crowd without his backpack. I didn't notice it for a few minutes as my brother and I smoked some of the hash we purchased. When I realized the backpack was still there I picked it up and looked around for the guy who left it, but he was lost in the crowd. So I opened the backpack to see what was in it. The backpack had over 1 lb of hash and three sheets of blotter plus about 20 hits wrapped in aluminum foil. I was a boss around high school for the next few weeks, and I'm sure my brother did okay at the university he was attending too.
