I want to win 60 games, sons. We have to win a couple in Hoover. Nola and Glenn can handle that.

I'm confident Nola will get us a win, that's all I want, to not go 2 and q (mostly because I want some LSU baseball to watch during the weekend

LSU's been slipping in the RPI.

They're a lock for a national seed but they need to be careful about not going 2 and Laval. Especially since we were seeded really low after winning the SEC last season and we didn't play many road games, etc.

I don't see how it really matters, like you said, we are a lock for a national seed no matter what. Thats all I care about.

Kind of like what Aaron Fitt said.. LSU's a lock.. Prettttyyyy much. 2 and out and I expect a 7 or 8 seed which means they thought about leaving LSU out.

No conference or tournament title.. Just a lot of wins. That's two things they like to reward teams with national seeds for.

how can we get the most out of Nola? If he pitched Wednesday he could start Sunday in the championship game

Why in the world would we want to do that?

Nola pitches Wednesday...and then not again (except maybe the equivalent of a bullpen session) until the regional.

Keep your eye on what is important.

We have a much better resume this year than we did last year despite not winning the SEC. You have to look beyond just the numerical RPI number. LSU has more wins against the top 50 RPI than anyone else in the country. We will be no lower than a 4 seed IMO. Florida didn't win either title last year and they were the #1 overall seed.

So why did they give Florida the #1 overall seed last year?

Last season was a pretty weird year. Florida swept Miami on the road, took 2/2 from Florida State, and 2/3 from CSF.

The committee loves to stick it to LSU when they get the chance as they've shown in 06, 10, and 11.

So, are we a lock, or not?

I remember how I felt walking out of the met last year with moo st fans chirping, it sucked!!!!! I don't want us to be stupid and "win at all costs" by overusing any arms but I think we need to roll our starters out there and try to win this thing...I feel there is a big difference in #2/3 overall seed and #7/8

Holy crap folks, chill out.

IT DOESN'T MATTER WHICH NATIONAL SEED YOU ARE, AS LONG AS YOU ARE ONE.

National Seeds

1991 - #4
1993 - #5
1996 - #6
1997 - #2
2000 - #2 (I believe)
2009 - #3

The last time the #1 Overall National Seed won a CWS - 1999 (Miami won it)

National seeding didn't start until 1999.

But you've got those two right.

2 - 2000
2 - 2003
7 - 2008
3 - 2009
7 - 2012

Don't understand this "who cares" attitude about the SEC Tournament championship. Vandy wine the regular season championship. I for one would love nothing more that see an LSU-Vandy showdown in the championship game with Nola on the mound as his second game in the tourney. Could be a primer for the CWS later. And winning the SEC tourney gives us bragging rights over Vandy.

NOT going to happen. Let me get this straight...the coach held Nola out last weekend so he could rest, so now you think he will throw him on a Wednesday/Sunday???

Who gives a flying mother frick about bragging rights over Vandy.

This whole SEC tournament is kinda humorous...NONE of the top 8 seeds give a shite about it. They are more interested in setting up for regionals. The coaches would love to abolish the tournament altogether. Mainieri has this thing figured out perfectly...get Nola a game, use your other pitchers as you like, come home, and get ready to dominate 2 weeks at the Box.

There was no such thing as a national seed before 1999. Back they just seeded the teams once you got to the CWS.

Sorry, I just get tired of reading about where we will go. Prob going to end up 4 or 5, imo. Unless we win tourney, then #3
