X-games and peak performances.

I've just been kind of watching the skateboarding and BMX half pipes today and was wondering, has the peak or pinnacle performance of these sports already been reached? I don't know much about this subject I'll admit, but it just seems like they all do the same tricks over and over and it doesn't appear if there's any real new ground to break. Kind of like the slam dunk contest. Will we ever witness anything like Tony Hawk landing the 900 again, or has everything that's possible to do already been accomplished?
Maybe since Lil Wayne has turned into a skater a whole "new" generation of x-gamers can take it to the next level, but I'm not even sure if superior athleticism would be enough to push this sport much further.

I think there will always be small little new innovations but as far as big things they may be close to maxed out. At some point physics and gravity prevail and there is only so much you can do. Snowboarding is similar. Without some type of engine to provide extra power you do reach a limit on how high and far you can go.

Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking.
Do you think if a superb athlete like a Nate Robinson that is built kind of compact and real explosive and had balls of steel were to take an interest in skateboarding at an early age, he could make a difference?
But I guess the flip side to that is if he's like exclusively into these kinds of sports he prob wouldn't max his athletic potential
