How dumb does the media look regarding Westbrook?

The last couple of years the Media has hammered Westbrook. Although the Thunder made the WCF 2 years ago and the Finals last season, most of the media has acted like OKC has won in spite of Westbrook. Without him, they have struggled against the 8th seed Rockets and are on the verge of loosing in 5 games to Memphis. Seems like some of these guys would come out and admit that they were wrong about how important he is to the Thunder but so far no one is really talking about it.

its mostly just skip baseless. the real analysts know that Westbrook is a BMF

I agree 100%

People loved blaming RW for "taking shots away" from KD. I think we have all found out that KD isn't as assertive as he should be. And that hes the best scorer in the league, but hes not LBJ. Hes not carrying a team (well, not a team that weighs more than 185, anyways...)

I cant tell if your serious. With his knee in that condition he doesn't need to be anywhere close to the bench.

Who said he wasn't important to the Thunder? Who said without him they would be better?

No one? I said they were wrong about how important he is. Google something like "Westbrook is a ball hog" or "Westbrook needs to pass more" or "the thunder should trade Westbrook". He got all of the blame the last couple of years...all while the Thunder were making runs to the WCF and the NBA finals. That's really my point.

He has to keep his knee elevated almost all the time. They showed him earlier with it propped up. Can't really do that on the bench.

Meh, they were still the 1 seed in the West with Martin as their 6th man.

I agree but this isn't exactly the way to prove it. Losing him in the playoffs and replacing him with a washed up Derek Fisher doesn't really prove his greatness. I think most wondered if they'd be a better with a distributor, not that they'd be better with Durant and a bunch of shite.

To distribute to whom? Besides KD they really dont have any scorers (Martin is streaky and inconsistent). They need RW to score point blank period. Unless you think KD can avg 50/game

Of course OKC wasn't going to be good losing their starting point guard, who despite his faults is still a great player.

This still doesn't change my opinion that OKC, when they still had Harden to help carry the scoring load, may have been an even better team if they traded Westbrook for a couple of good players with comparable salaries.

I don't get why people make this a RW v Harden situation. They could have easily kept both if they didnt overpay Ibaka and they should have been amnestied Perk.
