i would like to use my AMEX but i would settle for the visa if it came to it. my visa racks sky miles. i guess ill see how much they will let me put on it

Find out exactly what type of card you have....business, travel and entertainment, rewards, etc....go search for 2013 visa interchange rates and find your card catagory. Those fees are what the merchant pays (plus about .20%) Offer them what you know and offer to pay half DONT DO THIS TILL AFTER ALL THE OTHER BARGAINING IS DONE AND THE FINAL PRICE IS DECIDED.

If you decide your amount of points is worth the amount, do it.

Which is why I said only offer half of the expense. They will try to make him think they are coming out of pocket totally for the credit card charges to them.
