I jerk free hooks, spoons and spinners and I will put my hand up to catch and I never get stuck. Anything with a little weight to it I duck or completely move.

Well I figured out why it wasn't coming out. There's just too much give in the finger and wrist. I finally pulled my elbow in close to my side and held my finger with my hand when he jerked it.

Point that pole to the side instead of straight up next time that happens. Maybe practice casting more? Not trying to be a dick but your doing something wrong here if that keeps happening to you. You have my sympathy.

My Uncle's buddy runs a charter out of Hope Dale and right after Rita my father, uncle and my self went fishing on his charter. Cpt. Harvey has a partner that runs another boat as well. Well he, unfortunately, took out a group of three women. End result was a hook in the ear barb caught in the skin. We made it back right before he did and Cpt. Harvey tied a quick not to the base of the J and ripped that sucker out. It was hilarious, he was so pissed.
