Northern schools: Baseball vs. Lacrosse

Why don't more northern schools trade baseball for lacrosse? With Rutgers and Maryland, the B1G only needs 1 more program to compete under the conference flag. The average loss of a B1G lacrosse program is $450k/yr. Every B1G baseball program loses more than that a year. Indiana baseball loses $1.2M/yr, Northwestern $1M/yr, etc. The maximum scholarship trade is 11.7 for 12.5. Lacrosse is more conducive to northern weather in Feb-May. Why are they hanging on to baseball?
