Is the Colt 01991 the nicest GI model 1911?

I'm in the market for a GI model 1911. Can anyone speak to this particular model? Looks like it can be had for $900, which is higher than the Springfield Mil Spec?

I think MSRP is around 900, you can probably find that for around 770-800 if you look

So I did good paying $500 for mine 6 months ago??? Glad I didn't pass it by.

Yes and no....

The purchase was conducted in Bastrop.

Our Safety Rep at work was selling it and I asked how much and he said $500. I had control my excitement so he wouldn't knock the price up.

Not stolen. I had a cop friend run the serial number.
