On local channels sure. I haven't watched Elementary but PoI is pretty damn good. Doesn't hold much of a candle to Breaking Bad or GoT imo.

my parents enjoy person of intrest so much they bought me the first season as a stocking stuffer, worth a watch? I had other shows as priority

Hell yes. The show is amazing. You need to open it first chance you get and watch it.

I hear Elementary is a good show but I just can't seem to get myself to watch it. Person of Interest on the other hand, one of my favorite shows.

I put POI higher on my priority list than Breaking Bad or GoT. It's my #1 show currently on TV.

Elementary is to Sherlock as the mentalist is to psych.
