Skip Bayless has officially jinxed Johnny Football

Yes, I'm already ready to go out on this limb faster than Johnny Football gets to end zones: He'll be a National Football League STAR. Everything about this kid is RARE. We're talking Michael Vick meets Doug Flutie meets Fran Tarkenton meets Brett Favre meets Drew Brees -- with a sometimes dangerous dose of Broadway Joe Namath thrown in off the field.

Next year, if Johnny Manziel enters the draft after three years at Texas A&M, as he almost certainly will, some lucky team picking at or near the top will get the rookie equivalent of Robert Griffin III.

frick Skip Bayless
And the closest comparison in the NFL right now for me is Russell Wilson, not any of the names listed in Skip's hyperbole-filled troll rant

Man some of the expectations being placed on this kid is just unrealistic. He is a talent but let's see what he can do in his 2nd year without being a virtual unknown.

Typical First Take. "Hey let's throw together as many ridiculous hyperbolic statements that we can think of and see what happens."

Johnny Football won't have near the season he did last year. Look at Tebows sophmore year and then his others. He could never replicate his own stats.

He just won a natty and almost did back to back but ran into Bama but who's counting

I said stats..I said nothing about games he won. Keep trying though.
ETA:
SO-> 55 TD's (Won)
JR-> 42 TD's
SR-> 35 TD's

For the record, the last 2 QBs I recall Skip pimpin this emphatically were Vince Young and Tim Tebow.

His QB rating went down .1 from his Soph to Jr years.

Are people really this stupid?
Look at his overall production. He had 55 TD's his Sophmore year. He threw for 540 more yards, had 10 more TD's, rushed for 222 more all his Sophmore year. He was much more of a threat and impactful player that year then he ever was after that. Teams learned to game plan for Tebow and they adjusted.

He finished third in the heisman in 08 and finished with the most 1st place votes. His stats may not have been duplicated, but he also threw the ball less. It wasn't like he was out there struggling.
You're a dick.
You're a dick.

I have to agree with Skip on this one. I think JFF will be a hybrid between MIke Vick and Russel Wilson.

Did you forget that Meyer wanted to take the load off in 08 because of how beat up Tebow was after 07? Didn't he have a bum shoulder after his 55 TD season? His completion percentage actually improved his senior year to like 70%.

Never said he struggled. All I said is that JF wouldn't have that great of a season this year, and that even Tebow couldn't replicate his own stats.

It only went up 1% from his 08 season actually.
