How good an athlete was he? To be a DE and also punter is needless to say rare, so how good an athlete was he? I never saw him play. Thanks

He ran mike the tiger around his cage after about a case of beer and a few hits off the bong.

Clay Parker was a pitcher and punter. Even played for the Yankees.

Man how about that Rocky. They don't make boxers like that anymore. How good must he have been to take those blows from that Russian and still manage to win.

Me either. And since he was born in 1735, I don't think there are many 260 year olds alive that saw him in his prime as well.

Ok...for you young buck Ranters...John Adams was an All SEC DE AND punter for LSU from 77-81. One of the very best players in that era. Played with Woodley, Ensminger John Ed Bradley, Willie Teal, and many others who left there mark at that time. He was a phenomenal athlete and competitor. Drafted into the NFL cut short from injury. Be curious to know what he is doing these days.

He really was an outstanding player. He mostly mauled his opponent and made teams go away from him. I had forgotten about the punting but do remember now. It seems like he wasn't the no. 1 punter the whole time he was here.

Played in '79 and was DE opposite Lyman White. Both were very good and fast. They would frequently run down triple options from the backside. And he punted. Avg punter; very good DE.

Ben Franklin as a QB and CB? Did he quit football to fly a kite? How good could he have been?

For those who remember him, where would you rank him among our all time DEs? I don't think he's top ten, but he would likely be top 20. Outstanding player.

Too twenty probably. He was a stand up DE in a Fifty Defense. Very good player. He would absolutely boom some punts 60+ yards, but the next one might be 30. Number 86, out of DeRidder, I think.
