We played a par 3 that was 210 and I flew the green with my 3 iron

Guess who I felt like?

The part of town where all the 'tree' streets are.

Stay away from Bayou Country Club & Sugarland if you can. Play them only if you can't get on at LaTour or Ellendale (if you don't mind the temporary greens until August). We don't have a lot of choices within 20 miles that aren't goat ranches.

Just looked at google maps.

Says 21 miles from LaTour. A friend's fil is a member at Ellendale and offered to bring me over there. Looks like half their greens are under construction though. I'd like to join there after a year or two. Mrs. net wants to move in.

I've heard them described as blue collar country clubs.

I'll be more comfortable at Ellendale and LaTour.

Until a few years ago Bayou CC wasn't like that. It has gone downhill in the past 5-6 years. It was never as good as Ellendale, but for a 9 hole course crammed into a small space it was pretty good. Sugarland is a ranch, but it does have 18 holes and a few of them are actually decent, but there's only so much you can do without being able to water fairways, etc
