There's a lot less five star players than there are 4 and 3 star. It makes sense that less would get drafted..

This. There aren't equal numbers of 5 stars, 4 stars, etc. Very few players are rated as 5 stars - and almost all of them are drafted.

Well each year out of high school there is 20-30 five stars that come out of high school every year depending on service. The draft is every year, so???

Looks like about 1/2 to 1/3 of 4 stars get drafted and less then 1/4 quarter 3 stars

I'd like to see the round-by-round breakdown of stars. Sometimes a 5* has an OK college career, gets drafted 5-7 round, and won't make a roster. Others excel, get drafted early, and have a prosperous pro career.

Offensive linemen and dbs are typically the area where stars and the draft are the furthest apart. Its an evaluation issue

On average each year we get roughly 30 5 star players, another 300 4 star players, and probably another 300 3 star players?

So 600-30 ratio, you expect a 20-1 ratio based solely on numbers, and a bit better ratio since 5 star players are supposed to be the best of the best. So maybe a 10-1 ratio would be about what is ultimately expected between 5 star and 4/3 star players combined.

This year was excellent in terms of 5 star players selected in the first round. Five in total.

Not true. See Russell Sheppard, Terrence Toliver, Tyler Love, BJ Scott, and the list goes on and on...
